Age and Improvement - 2007/05/25 04:08 I'm not sure if there are any statistics on this, but if anyone knows the answer, please post:
How many people over the age of 60 have achieved a rating of expert (Over 2000) over the past several years?
I'm particularly curious about people who have made it to "Expert" for the first time, not people who have achieved it early in life, fallen down to "A" and then risen back up.
Naturally, I'm not necessarily looking for ultra-specific data, just a ballpark figure. A lot? Hardly any? None?
Even anecdotal responses are welcome. If you're sixty or over and have made it to expert -- or you know some senior who has, please let me know about it.
I'm happy for any info along these lines.
Thanks.

I can't find anything Chess specific, but this article shows it's never too late.
