Now, I am going to go against the grain of what I just commented about above. I can win some redicuously tough games even on MSN. Most of the time when this occurs I end up getting cheated. How do I get cheated? Poor time restrainsts on the game. 30 minutes is not enough time for me to play a serious game against a master level player because I run out of time. Does that mean the other player is better than I?
The MSN chess has four options for playing: 1. you can play against computer, but usually games are very hard in this case 2. you can play an unrated game, which has no time limit 3. you can play a 30 minutes game which is for advanced players 4. a 5 minutes game which is for excelent players.
Now if the game is hard or easy it pretty much depends on your opponent, and not on MSN. It's not the best chess programme, and, yes i agree with you, it's best to play with a person face to face. But for someone who can't meet with friends because of a very busy agenda and someone who only wants to learn, it's a good option i would say
The 30 minutes game, it's very realistic, Dame. You can very well win a game or loose it in less than that. Depends on how good you are.
Good luck
