Scotch - 2007/08/06 16:46I am unrated and routinely play opponents rated 1500 and above. Naturally I always loose. But to get to the point why in the Scotch is this 4th move by Black considered inferior
4. Nxd4 Nxd4 (?) 5. Qxd4 and then my game goes downhill this is my first post so if I wrote incorrectly please advise so that I can avoid it in the future. thanks
Scotch - 2007/08/07 00:13You are capturing a piece that has move more than once and your allowing white to get a free developing move in the center and with the queen knight gone it may become difficult to dislodge that queen later. Remember its normal good practice to only move a piece once in the opening stages of the game.
