Jason Repa strikes again - 2007/08/27 07:19 When I started looking at sites where Jason had "hit" I realized I was far from being the only one who had a particularly unpleasant encounter with this individual.

He has an interesting tactic, he hauls out all the big guns, fires some seriously charged volleys, hitting everything and everyone and when you counter with some humour or questions he just disappears.

I reckon the idea is to show that he has some intellect but doesn't want to pursue a thread in the event that he might just be beaten in the next round.

What bothers me is the unwarranted volatility with which he attacks people on a personal level.

His last appearance was on facebook with a group called "chess openings" amongst others ... be warned .. this dude is still lurking!
Any ideas on how to deal with this type of online unpleasantness and NOT propagate the idea that online chess afficionados are all jerks?

Kind regards

D

Jason Repa strikes again - 2008/05/27 22:33 Hello,

I recently encountered Jason Repa on facebook, and he's up to more of the same.

It looks to me like he spends an inordinate amount of time thinking up personal attacks against strangers. As a chess-playing Canadian I can't stand the thought of him spouting off to people at random all over the world. I feel ashamed for both chess players and Canadians in general that this man exists.

I know this is an old topic, and most of the other threads have been locked, but this person is still very active in the chess community.

I'm almost convinced now that he's a legitimate sociopath, and the more people that know about him before they have the misfortune of actually meeting him, the better.

Thanks.

Paul

PS I could post the entertaining exchange we had on facebook, if anyone's interested, but I doubt anyone is. Most of his posts are boilerplate anyway - I read some of his stuff here on chesscircle and although I didn't explicitly compare, some of his insults appear to be the same, word for word - I don't think it matters who he's talking to; personal attacks are the default behaviour with him.

Nobody is responsible for another man's actions just because he is countryman of yours (or of whoever). There are bad apples everywhere under everything in life. It's just the way it is

Jason Repa strikes again - 2008/06/04 15:50 Bad apples, yes, but not like this guy... I've been participating in forums since before the internet existed, and I've had the opportunity to meet a lot of trolls, but I've never met anyone like Jason Repa.

But okay, maybe it's the wrong attitude.

Jason Repa strikes again - 2008/06/05 14:02 Sure. But that doesn't mean you have to feel ashamed because he is Canadian.

Jason Repa strikes again - 2008/06/05 22:30 Perhaps ashamed was the wrong word. How about dismayed?

Jason Repa strikes again - 2008/07/01 18:54 I found it rather amusing when he started flaming FICS on one of the usenet groups and I invited him to play at FICS to see if it was as weak as he claimed:

finger saddamsays
Finger of SaddamSays:

Last disconnected: Sun Jun 4, 21:54 PDT 2006

rating RD win loss draw total best
Blitz 1669 221.7 6 6 0 12

finger myjihad
Finger of MyJihad:

rating RD win loss draw total best
Blitz 1834 198.3 93 73 14 180 2038 (22-May-2006)

He created a few other accounts at FICS, and constantly got 'schooled', so he quit playing there. It was obvious that his mouth and ego are way bigger than his chess talent.

Re:Jason Repa strikes again - 2008/07/05 19:37 That's a very interesting post, "Darth". My first thought was wondering what kind of a sniveling coward hides behind an obvious alias in order to whine about the behavior of someone else? To top that, you claim that Jason "disappears" before you get a chance to respond, but it's YOU who has disappeared and hidden from Jason in order to post slander behind his back.

I suspect you're one of those poor loser crybabies who was crushed by Jason repeatedly on the chessboard and/or outsmarted and humiliated by him in debate. Now you've run off and retreated to somewhere that Jason is not so you can lick your wounds and vent your frustrations.

The word PATHETIC doesn't begin to describe you!

Hi Paul. Is that your real name or are you hiding behind a fake name to go along with your fake picture as "Darth" here has done? I find your comments quite interesting, because I happen to know Jason personally and he's got more integrity in his little toe than someone like you could dream of having. For starters, I know he never runs away like a frightened deer and complain about someone behind their back, as you are doing.

You're also curiously vague about what it is that Jason has apparently done to you? Oh, wait a minute, a quick google search reveals that Mr. Abrams (assuming that is his real name) has a below average tournament chess rating in the "C" class range: http://www.chess.ca/memberinfo.asp?CFCN=103951

Could it be that Mr. Abrams is jealous and envious of EXPERT rated Jason Repa who wins tournaments all the time and gets paid to give chess lessons?

Hmmm, I wonder!?

Foxbat, I think someone as patently stupid as you are should stick to telling the truth. Your lies are quite obvious and transparent. Get someone to show you how to use google to do some simple research. Perhaps you'll become aware of the fact that Jason Repa is one of the top blitz chess players in the province of Manitoba, with more first place blitz tournament victories than anyone else. They use the players' slow ratings to determine pairings and Manitoba blitz events, but based on his performance Jason is a 2200+ OTB blitz chess player, as well as a 2200+ online blitz/bullet player.

Here he wins clear first ahead of a FIDE rated master and five other experts: http://www.chessmanitoba.com/tournaments/2007/07dec_blitz.htm

Or how about here: http://www.chessmanitoba.com/content/view/1053/2/

Or here:
http://www.chessmanitoba.com/content/view/1057/2/

Or here:
http://www.chessmanitoba.com/content/view/1076/2/

etc, etc, etc.

And I know personally that Jason maintains blitz and bullet ratings in the 2200-2350 range on the playchess server, where the serious chess players do battle.

FICS is for weak patzers like you who wouldn't be able to get so much as a single draw, let alone a win, against Mr. Repa, in any number of games. Is that why you created the fake account with his name that you yourself played under? You're a pretty sad little man, aren't you?

And why do you feel the need to cowardly hide behind a fake name, "foxbat"? Could it be that unlike Mr. Repa who has real credentials in the chess community, and who posts under his real name, you're little more than a charlatan, a coward, and a liar who can't back up a single word you say?
