No, it's not you Catfishcore, and you're right. Not only were all the games drawn, but they were spiritless, short draws. All under 30 moves. I'm hoping we can chalk this up to jet lag, as I stated in my Facebook CHESS OPENINGS group: http://http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=18105380992 where I also provide some analysis and commentary of the games.
The only part where I disagree with you somewhat is where you state that you feel the games had some fight left in them. At that level of the game I think it's pretty safe to say there were no real winning chances when the draws were agreed to.
However, it was the earlier choices that gave rise to these lifeless positions.
Kramnik - Svidler looked set for a fight, as Kramnik chose the Botvinnik semi-slav, but them Kramnik avoided complications and went in for the exchange variation.
Peter Leko seemed intent on a sharp battle by playing 7...0-0 in the Lopez (possibly intending a Marshall attack), but Grischuk played the timid 8.h3 to avoid it.
I'll reserve judgment after only one round having been played. Hopefully things will change.
