zappa versus rybka - 2007/09/23 22:04
Hi, true, and if you think that 100 years ago it was derided and even 45 years ago Black got crushed quickly in most games! Very modest but safe line by Zappa, in main open lines one can get an instant refutation! Rybka is again in trouble as Zappa keeps a positional advantage in a relatively simplified position and most important, without risk. Wow, after defending an awkward position quite well, Rybka chose a move which was "courting" her long before - f4 - in the most improper moment. Again imbalance Q vs. 2R, I think Rybka evaluation (only +2) is ingenuous, she (the other "she") is just lost. Allow me to give my friend some notes on the opening before going to WCh round 9. Rybka, with -1 in the match was supposed to play a sharper 3rd move 3...Nc6 or 3...Nd7 (my choice) only to change the policy 2 moves later when 5...Nc6 is the safest. At move 8 Zappa didn't show any aggressive intention either, 8.Nc3 is just a stupid, standard move, unfit to the position. Looked through classic good sense glasses 14... Rad8 is a double error, 1st the right plan is a minority attack ...b5 and...c4, for the second, she doesn't ask herself a simple question, where shall I play the other rook? I'll go to Mexico! bye bye
