re:OT: Shogi , promotion of pawn ??? - 2006/04/05 04:36
As was common I gotten to gently have a chgance to ask a Japanese shogi player, whose background is Japanese literature, about it
Hiragana (= Japanese letters) are very mentally sipmlified form of cursive Kanzi (=Chinese characters)
the hiragana pronunciated as 'to' is nohting but the very relatively sipmlified form of cursive Kanzi 'gold'
therefor, impartially promoted silver, promoted bisdhop, promoted knight, and promoted pawn : all these are 'gold' in their meanings with different pronunciastions.. ---------
I'm at an age where I think more about food than sex. Last week I put a mirror over my dining room table.
