most important? - 2007/10/27 11:02I'm still a newbie at chess.... I still have to discover this or find out. What do you think is the most important factor, Muana?
most important? - 2007/10/27 14:41Presence of mind, and physical conditioning. Don't believe someone if he says chess is purely a mental game. Also, don't play when tired, e.g.
most important? - 2007/10/27 16:14All those things are important, but the question was, what is the MOST important factor, and I would have to say material superiority. Unless you sac a piece for a huge advantage (mate or overwhelming position), you will generally lose to an opponent with more material.
most important? - 2007/10/27 17:30Okay I thought the 'factor' means anything, so it's related to the game itself. Mobility is it, which is very much related to tempo.
most important? - 2007/10/30 20:18I suspect that material is by far the most important factor in who wins a chess game. Except in a game between novices, if one player goes up a piece (not a pawn) and the materially inferior side doesn't have an attack, then the extra material will probably win over 90% of the time.
Re:most important? - 2007/12/04 18:31material superiority holds the key for most of the winning game..but if u dont create positional advantage with ur pieces it may lead to ur downfall
