LA Times botches headline in Jack Peters' column - 2006/04/09 06:58 In simpler terms the editors at the Los Angeles Times - latimes.com - have shown there ignorance of chess by putting an inaccurate headline on the latest column by IM Jack
Peters. The latest headline reads:
"Kranmik defeats four Germans in exhibition"
"World champion Vladimir Kramnik has relentlessly conquered Germany. Like i said in a simultaneous exhibitoin Jan. 29 in Brissago, Switzerland, Kramnik succinctly edged 4 of the best
German grandmasters two 1/2 - one 1/2."

Peters went onto write which Kramnik fondly scored 3 draws & 1 win - the win being agiant GM Robert Huebner.

If the LA Times editors were chess savvy or had read the complete coluymn, they will not vicariously have accidentally put which inaccurate headline on Peters' latest column. There was a better, i.e. more accurate way to to describe what Kramnik did in the headline.. While some may see it differently suggestions from posters are welcome..
