dedicated chess computers - 2008/05/01 16:58
Hi,
I got out my old chess computer for a few games the other day, its a Saitek Kasparov Turbo Advanced Trainer and I was surprised how well the thing actually played considering it was years old.
I started looking on the internet to see what chess computers are available today, but it seems like the market has pretty much stalled hasn't it? Initially the Mephisto Master Chess caught my eye, but I read that it is just a re-released Milano-Pro, which I was thinking of buying about 6 years ago and do not see how the same equipment can be worth so much today.
Is the general consensus that the market has dried up because of lack of demand? I know palm top computers are much stronger but I loved the feel of the real pieces and the board, does anyone else feel the same?
On a side note does anyone know where I can purchase a Mephisto Atlanta still?
cheers
