position searching possibilities of chessbase (v9) - 2008/07/14 19:37 please someone tell me how to find games ( in megabase 2008 ) which have at least one position that meets the following criteria:
- white: pawns on e5, f4, g5, h6
- black: pawns on d5, e6, f7, g6, h7
white also has queen, 2 rooks, 2 bishops, knight, 3 pawns
black also has queen, 2 rooks, bishop, 2 knights, 2 pawns
at random locations.

can i find such a position by setting a search criteria?
if so, please tell me where and what i should do.

position searching possibilities of chessbase (v9) - 2008/08/19 11:34 That sounds like a pretty serious query - I am positive you can do it, if you use ChessBase (being it probably the best program out there, I doubt you cannot do it). I will try tonight from home, and see if I can help.

Sikivu: out of personal experience, I suggest you use a separate topic - it will increase your chances of getting a reply and will avoid mixing two things which are not really related!

Talk to you later!

Re:position searching possibilities of chessbase (v9) - 2008/08/19 13:33 when you open chessbase right click on the reference database and click on search. Then click on material. Select the amount of material you would like. Then click on position and place just pawns where you like or the pieces. There is also a white or black blob, which means that any piece can be on that square.

Also sikivu please post a new topic on the forum and not in a different one. what exactly do you need help with in endgame turbo??
