What chess represents you ? - 2008/08/06 13:23
For me, chess represents a lot of different things. In random order: - I am fascinated by the complexity of what can be achieved, with just a handful of pieces and black and white squares; - I love seeing how people “reflect themselves” in the way they play (aggressive vs defensive, open vs closed,…); - I see it as a challenge, and I love challenges; - I can measure progress, and see how I react to different kind of training; - Last but not least, I just get a lot of fun from playing the game: I really play for the fun, and I rather prefer losing a well played game, rather than winning a crap one!
