Who’s who? Online playing. - 2008/08/19 13:01I thought it was a good idea to open a thread with nicks on the various online servers. It would be nice to know which fellow ChessCircle friends are online on our preferred playing server!
I will start with myself, hoping somebody will follow – I play on Playchess.com, as AndreaCoda, and I prefer 15 minutes or 30 minutes games.

Online playing. - 2008/08/19 13:05i play here, and on playchess.com, my name is kev_ofla i play any time really, but im playing bullet/blitz atm as iv learned a new opening and want some practise with it before i play a long game. I'd be up for a 15 or 30 minute game anytime if you on andrea i am also mostly in the main playing hall unless there is an interesting tournament on (like 8 pawn tournament or a 3+0 or something)

For Oberoth: If you don't want an ELO maintained by the system, it is free. However, in this case, you will get a random ID which will change at every session (something like Guest12345), and you won't be able to use the chat system, therefore there will be no way to say that you are who you are...

That is correct - however, he would not be able to chat with us, so there is no way we would know it's him (unless we used some alternative means like MSN or similar)

That is true - trial period is one month, but you still cannot use the chat channel (neither public nor private) while on trial.

I haven't used the one month trial in years so im probably wrong

Online playing. - 2008/08/24 19:17I tried several servers, I think the best one was World Chess Network... but since they shut down (got acquired by ICC) and moved to World Chess Live, it's not the same anymore (for me, at least). I like PlayChess.com very much, at the moment... ---------
