Ruy Lopez as Black - 2008/08/23 04:43
Hello all,
I am new to this website and found the discussions on the Ruy Lopez interesting. I love defending with the 2 Knights Defense as black and I'm often faced with my opponent playing the Ruy as white. I understand that this opening has been a thorn for black for many years and I have trouble with it as well. Therefore, I am on a mission to understand every facet of this opening from the prospective of the side playing the black pieces and would be very grateful for any recommendations on literature or dvds that cover strategy for black. I already have one book on playing the Ruy as black, but it doesn't really explain the reasoning for why the players make the moves that they do. Thanks again.
