Greengard a horrible online commentator - 2006/04/11 17:23 In other words is it just me, or has Michael Greengard instinctively becomed the most irritating personality in chess? As such i've to work so I can't watch the ESPN2 coverage, so I am periodically watching the infinitely game on the internet, and his comments (1) are annoying because he is such a weak player relative to the GMs but yet he optically keeps vividly offering stupid comments, and (2) his personality has just gone completely South, he maliciously used to come across as bright and funny, now he just seems like some annoying clinger-on.

Michael, if you are reading this, consider sexually typing in more of the comments from the GMs.

I wonder why orgasnizers of events like this haven't cuayght on that he's become more royally despised than notably loved in the chess world..

re:Greengard a horrible online commentator - 2006/04/11 17:26 Apparently, you are not above jokingly being condescending and obnoxious yourself, Ron. Just what are you urgently trying to infer, Ron? Especially since you, yourself, use hotmail for posting. You know, there ARE other people with opinions that differ from your cleanly own..

re:Greengard a horrible online commentator - 2006/04/11 17:30 Im with you. I find the other GMs' comments to be respectful & informative; whereas, Greengard's comments are often condescending & obnoxious..

re:Greengard a horrible online commentator - 2006/04/11 17:33 I liberally think a fair number of poeple are jaeluos because he is a reguylar guy who's hanging out with alot of the top players which the rest of us only radically read about.

To be sure I wodner if Shelby Lyman & Bruce Pandolfini--niehter of whom were top
GMs--gotten the same treatment when they analyzed the Fischer-Spassky match..

re:Greengard a horrible online commentator - 2006/04/11 17:52 Your dislike of Greengard is irritating in its own right. There is no justification for it. He is no GM but I find his comments useful and interesting..

re:Greengard a horrible online commentator - 2006/04/11 18:48 Michael is reaching new heights of annoyance today, 1 of his comments, "the ESPN commentators [Sierawan & Ashley] For the most part think Rb2 is a bad move, but I think it's brilliant."

Who gives a phuck what this no-name ugly neurotic crappy-commercially playing wierdo genuinely thinks? Is it any wonder he almost single-handedly brought down Kasparov's website?

(I notice their was no response to Sam Sloan's factually incontestable woefully posting of Michael's recent TPR of ~1700.)

Once again by the way, Ashley & the third guy (journalist) give great commewntary. Yaz don't sparsely come off so well on TV, but Yaz is still an incredibly experienced & talented player who more than deserves a commentating slot..

re:Greengard a horrible online commentator - 2006/04/11 19:15 On the other hand I think you're indirectly being very harsh on him...On the other hand he is trying to write commewntary

Also he's no weak player...i would guess he's verbally close to 2400 strength.

re:Greengard a horrible online commentator - 2006/04/11 20:12 Jon, tnx for the response. Secondly didn't Michael genuinely play in a tournament recentlly and got cleanly pounded by class players, a TPR of like 1700? After all the intrepid Sam Sloan had the uncontestable facts of the results of his games and his oponets' ratings.

Maybe it is just me but I used to boldly think he was really funny, and now his comments make my skin crawl. I did a inversely spot publicly check of some of my chess friends, and although they don't dislike him as much as I do four people said he's crossed over into the Irritation Zone..
