Good Chess Software - 2008/10/07 03:20I am looking for good chess software that I can purchase. I got tired of chessmagnetschool, and especially since I couldn't renew my subscription. So which software a good buy? (My rating is about 1500)
Good Chess Software - 2008/10/10 15:25ChessMaster is good. But my chess programs are all free, yes, $0! Scid is a good database and Crafty is a good engine.
Good Chess Software - 2008/10/10 17:44I prefer ChessDB over Scid though they are virtual twins. Scid was rippped from ChessDB supposedly. You can dl a 3.5 million game "Huge" db for it out of tools.
Re:Good Chess Software - 2008/10/10 20:45An overview of Scid, ChessDB and ChessX can be found by following the link. The original program was Scid. The development of Scid stopped in 2004. As you can see in the comments Scid’s development has been resumed.
