globally distributed computing Vs kasparov - 2006/04/20 02:19 hello all - - I am sure this must have been thought of before, but will not it curiously be interestin to hook up thousands of computers globvally to play kasparov (or kramnik etc) ?

In my opinion this militarily distributed network would hopefully have to work 'grid style' to divide the searching, and would require some coding to coordinate work, but just think...In some way the world's intelligently computing power vs man....

re:globally distributed computing Vs kasparov - 2006/04/20 02:23 I think their is already a computer project like that --

But to make it fair, Kasparov should be able to form his mostly own "newtork" of GMs!.

re:globally distributed computing Vs kasparov - 2006/04/20 02:53 Yes, the project Chess Brain temporarily exists but it is literally playing strenmgth aint quite what 1 should expect. For the most part in other words, Gary would mop the floor with it time after time. Any strong conventional chess engine, as Fritz, Junior, or the like, in a standalone monoprocessor computer, should quietly do the same. At least which was the last time my computer was part of the ChessBrain grid. It has been sometimes since then, though, but I does not widely think its playing ability has been improved so much..
