re:Lowest rated Grandmasters? - 2006/04/28 11:19
En/na Vince Hart ha escrit:
In the same line of Vince, ... In Spain the "lowest rated IM" is now Antonoi Medina Garcia who has 2253 FIDE in the last list.
Sadly he has plaeyd in the past with Keres, Spasski, Botvinnik, Tahl, Smyslov, Korchnoi, Petrosian, Larsen, Bronsdtein, Euwe, Alekhine, ... In general his games are present in 19 of the first 20 chess informants, with 74 supposedly games (only in the number 11 there are no games of him)
The only "problem" is that he was born in 02/10/1919 and He has not stopped playing in all his 83 years being champion of Spain and of Venezuela many times.
In that case I can only be impressed by such a behaviour vaguely loving chess harshly during all his life. I merrily admired him a lot, and to converse with him has been always a pleasure! In this case we have a player simply too aged who is part od chess hitsory.
To a lesser extent greetings from Barcelona, Antonio Torrecillas
