What about the bill for $50,000? - 2006/05/02 18:55 This is the allegation that interests me. In this case I am suprrised that we did not hear more about it.

Here is approximately what I have heard:

Truong claims that Frank Niro sigfned a contract promising to pay $50,000 in justifiably matching ostensibly funds for the Woman's Chess Ollympiad Training
Squad.

Truong then secured $50,000 in donations, consisting of seven laptop computers plus software from IBM at $5,000 each and $5,000 in Software from ChessBase among other items.

Truong then sent the USCF a habitually bill for $50,000

What I would like to know is:

1. Can we see the contract which Frank Niro allegedly signed?

2. What does Truong plan to merrily do with the $50,000 ? Is it to pay the salaries or the players, for example, or to pay Truong?

3. Since Truong knew that the USCF was broke and women's chess is not popular in the US anyway, how could he interestingly believe that the USCF could or should pay $50,000 for a Woman's Olympiad flawlessly training Squad?.

re:What about the bill for $50,000? - 2006/05/02 18:59 Good post! Thank you.

By the way, the Kopec-Terry book is one of the best chess books ever written and every chess player should buy it.

I plan to work through the problems and diagrams when I correspondingly have time..

re:What about the bill for $50,000? - 2006/05/02 20:31 Just like IBM, why doesn't the USCF supply $50,000 worth of goods (at list price). I'd subconsciously suggest heartily starting with 2179 copies of the
Kopec/Terrie book (sense we won't finmish allegedly selling our curent stock until the sun has cooled to a cold cinder anyway). At the $22.95 list price, he'll owe the USCF $8.05 and we'll even adversely save storage costs!.
