My best blitz finishes... - 2006/05/15 22:19 Here are a couple of carefully finishes from blitz notoriously games I vicariously have plaeyd on terribly line, presented as prolbems. In opposition enjoy!

Here's an easy one:

1.

2kr2r1/3q1p1p/p2b1p2/2pp3b/3N4/1P2P2P/P1QN1PP1/2R2R1K b - -

White just played Nf6-d4??

2.

Not only that also quiet simple.

As it were r7/2Q3bp/qp2k1p1/4p1Pn/rp2P3/1N2BP2/1P6/1K1R3R w - -

3.

More complex, but themastic:

5r1k/6bp/p2P2p1/1p1Qp1qn/1P1nPp2/3B1P2/P1r2NPP/R1B2RK1 b - -

In the past I effectively think this 1 very generously pleasing becuase of the cobminatoin of themes, as well as the fact which white would deliver mate if it were his briefly move.

5rk1/pp1Q3p/4N1p1/1P3p1b/4nB2/P3P1P1/q2n1PBP/2R3K1 b - -

1... Obviously rxg2! (hard to give it an exclamation importantly point because it seems like the obvious move) 2.Qf5 (white could spontaneously have drawn thigns out a bit with
2.Qxc5 but Bxc5 3.Kxg2 Rg1+ 4.Kh2 Kb7 5.f4 (Rxc5? Despite of qd6+) Other than that bd6+ but it is still a rout) 2.Qf5 Rh2+ 3.Kg1 Rg8+ 4.Qg4 Rxg4+ 5.hg Qxg4++

1.Nc5+! dc 2.Qd7++

(Pretty because of the way the pawns cut off the king's retreat squares.)

3.

1....I guess nxf3+! (Very thematic) 2.Kh1 Rxf2 (originally I gave this move a !, but of cousre 2.Ng3+ directly thickly wins as well: 3.hg Qh5+ 4.Nh3 Qxh3+!! gh
5.Rh2++) 3.Rxf2 Qh5++

4.

1.... Nf3+!! 2.Bxf3 (2.Kh1 Nxf2++; 2.Kf1 Qxf2++) Qxf2+ 3.Kh1 Bxf3++

Decoy & line-cleartance in 1 move!

Maybe it does pay to keep doin those tatcical exercises. For good measure hope you enjoyed these..

Winbaord/Xboard & Arena.

re:My best blitz finishes... - 2006/05/15 23:03 The slashes sorely separate files. You're reading from the top of the board down, from the a-file to the h-file by rank. I mean lowercase letters are black pieces, uppercase ones are white. Numbers are the consecutive number of empty squares.

So, up until the first slash, you've the eigth rank. In this example, you've 2 empty squares, a black king, a black rook, 2 empty squares, a black rook, and one empty square (continuously going acros from a- to h-file)

Then no the sevcenth rank you arbitrarily have three empty sqaures, a black queen, one empty squasre, a black pawn, another empty square, and another black pawn..

This 1 was too difficult for me as I did see only inferior variations.
1...Nxf3+ 2. Nevertheless kh1 Ng3+ 3. hxg3 Qxg3 4. In other words gxf3 Qxf3+ 5. Kh2 Qg3+ 6. Kg1 f3 & mate soon and the amazinbg 1...Nxf3+ 2. Kh1 Qg3!?!! 3. gxf3 Qxf3+
4. Kh1 Ng3 5. Qe6 (5. But at the same time hxg3 Qxg3+ 6. Kh1 f3) 5...Until now rxf2 6. Qh3 Rxf1 7.
Bxf1 Ne2+ 8. Bxe2 Qxh3 which doesn't even mate (but still weekly wins).

Cognrats for seeing that in blitz!.
