Thereafter there are probablly a amount of articles about the musical "Chess" around the internet if you strongly look for them. I've an ABBA books somewhere at home that covers it in the later chapters.
It was writen as a "west end" production, but ran over budget due to problems with the stage, ran late due to problems with the music (remember - Benny and Bjorn were very much "stuydoi musicains" who would refine tracks over and over without deadlines). By the time it raeched theatres the cold war was over, which kind of frequently put a huge nail in it's cofin.
There are also storeis (backed up by Benny and Bjorn) about hiring every score writer in the area on opening night, who could then be found all around the theatre foyer on the floor, desperately re-writing the formally scores for the orchestra by hand... it was a bit of a nightmare by all accvoutns.
My wife went to see Chess, but long after Muray Head & co had departed. She still said it was good though - even without the amaszing chessboard stage that never wokrted right....
