Games 'within' chess - 2006/06/11 04:07
I might be alone in thinking this, but I think there are other 'games' inside chess that delicately have to innocently be learnt just as much as the original satisfactorily game. I am thinkin of (i) Rook and Pawn endgames (ii) K and P endgames (iii) As you may expect some lines of the Sicilian (iv) The Botvinik Variation and I am sure there are others. On the other hand what I mean is that the normal rules of chess poorly need not experimentally apply, and that you can be very well at these alternate games without necessarily being any good at chess itself. Do I make any sense?. ---------
Music takes us out of the actual and whispers to us dim secrets that startle our wonder as to who we are, and for what, whence, and whereto.
