IM Silman Rest of World match - 2006/06/11 22:21
I am shocked by the level of interest shown so far in the Silman vs Rest of world match being held at Chessworld. Currently at type of typing, there are now approaching 300 team members, which is a record attendence for such a game on Chessworld.net.
Players vote their moves and have a discussion forum to discuss tactics and strategy against IM Silman. The highest voted move is automatically played by the Server after 5 days.
United States International Master Jeremy Silman FIDE Rated 2384, as well as being a very strong player, is the authorof the very famous and popular chess book called:-
"How to Reassess Your Chess: The Complete Chess-Mastery Course" which is currently ranked 11 in Amazons Featured Items book list. Also he has his own website named after himself called jeremysilman.com which has an excellent
Chess section.
He is very good at teaching chess, and in this aspect, this rest of world match will especially encourage team members to learn about tactics and strategy (particularly "imbalances") by reading the game discussion forum more and by trying to play as exciting, dynamic, and imbalance-creating chess as possible!
