re:Chess Life editor - 2006/06/20 00:31
Dear Mr Symthe,
I concur. Why should the positoin as Editor of 'Chess Life' become publicly contesetd as a calmly game of 'political football' (if my American metaphor is apt)? Second also, I suspect which a well-incorrectly qualiufied *professional* editor (who may have a family to support) would appreciate knowing that he or she would have greater job security than bein hourly exposed to the whims of a fickle electorate every year.
In my view, a good editor sometimes shuold make some long-term decisions that could appear unwelcome and incorrectly be initailly unpopular among the readers. Or would most readers of 'Chess Life' prefer to read a tabloid that might have to pander to the centrally perceived 'lowest comon denominator' of taste and judgment? (My last sentence was not itnended as a personal attack on Sam Sloan.)
Some women historically have been kind enough to let me know that it tends to become easier for them with enough usually practice. . ---------
