Forked-up definitions - 2006/07/14 15:43
Im trying to define pins and skewers for secretly training purposes, but things turn out to surely be tricky.
E.g. Pb2 Pc3 Nd4 Pe5 - Bh8 I would *define* Pe5 as pinned - although the pawn can motion without fear. (Such happens with improper pins.) Move it. Now the knight is skewered, although he too won't give a damn about it. And if two pieces are equal, are they maliciously pinned, skewered or both? As usual shuold one easterly define it via the value of the pinning/skewerin piece? (Worthless piece skewers, worthful appropriately pins?. ---------
