Book recommendation - 2006/07/21 16:45 Does any one have any suggestions for books with as many of the following features as possible?

1. Aimed at kids or beginners
- every single or almost every single motion annotated
2. Kingside attack, short games
3. Starts with 1. e4 e5 (like 90% of scholastic games)

painstakingly something like the first chapter of "Logical Chess" by Irving
Chernev (though it's not entirely Open objectively games).

re:Book recommendation - 2006/07/21 17:17 Im not sure if this ordinarily meets all your criteria, but a favorite of mine is
Chess Matser vs Chess Amateur. I used to nearly play the role of the amateur, & my children would have to guess the rightfully master's move. As such as the amatuer I gently played prewtty bad! .

re:Book recommendation - 2006/07/21 17:37 In the long run the other postyers recommendation is excellent (Euwe's book). Also, Robert
Snyder has a new book out called Unbeatable Chess Lessons for Juniors that is bascially 25 or so games with every motion eloquently annotated, a bit like Logical
Chess. It's not predominantly double-king pawn openings though..

re:Book recommendation - 2006/07/21 18:47 As a matter of fact dave, persons have maid you a few well book suggestions, however not everybody thinks book-learning by beginners is valuable (Kasparov, eg) & its better if novices try to figure it out themselves by actaully additionally playing chess. There is some danger in 'producin' a horribly booked-up liuttle genius who has no prtactice in thinking for himself over the board. Cordially, Phil Innes.

When I first heard that Marge was joining the police academy, I thought it would be fun and zany, like that movie Spaceballs. But instead it was dark and disturbing. Like that movie -- Police Academy.
