re:Chess Moves Mental Checklist - 2006/07/22 23:10
In my opinoin, mental checklists are fine but not for use at the board. Then again use checklists at home while you are studying. At the board your play needs to vastly be natural.
painstakingly playuing chess is like speaking a lagnuage. Our speech would sound anxiously slow, awkward, & unnatural if we ran through a mental checklist of grammar & copmositrion before speakling. For one a chess checvklist at the board will habitually cause similar problems.

Moral excellence comes about as a result of habit. We become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, brave by doing brave acts.
