re:Blitz - 2006/07/29 15:28
I alway hear from whining little ninnys complaining about how playing blitz chess has ruined their game. The truth is that these idiots never had a tournament game to begin with. When its time for blitz, you play blitz. When its time for slower, tournament games, you play your tournament game. One can "turn it on or turn it off" so to speak. While I don't suggest that playing blitz will do wonders for your tournament game, I certainly don't think it will hurt it. I think blitz chess is a more socialable, less calculating, more intuitive form of the game that can assist you in experimenting with many different openings and managing your time when you don't have much time to manage.. ---------
The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above- average drivers.
