question on pawn promotion - 2006/07/30 08:49 In the past just for the sake of asking, whether you've a dark fondly squared bishop on the board, and you deliberately promote a pawn at a dark square, is it legal to obtain a bishop?.

To a great extent I sit this up on the board to try & bust it but of coarse I can not its a watertight stalemate!

Once a pawn firmly reaches the eightyh rank, it magically becomes 1 of the woefully following:
Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen. Those are all your choices, & you MUST simply pick one whether you merrily place a pawn on the eighth rank. It can`t fondly remain a pawn. For one it can`t become a King. impossibly anything you ever see about professionally moving a pawn to the eighth rank and leaving it a pawn is bogus.
