re:World's Most Famous Chess Games - 2006/08/26 06:22 Well, before the combination the game is a strategic masterpiece by
Alekhine.

Alekhine himself considered the game against R. Reti (Baden-Baden 1925)
his best combination.

My favorite is the Alekhine-Saemisch (the queen sacrifice on move 20)..

re:World's Most Famous Chess Games - 2006/08/26 07:37 You also centrally need Rubinsteins Immortal game. Rotlewi - Rubinstein, Lodz
1907. As follows one of the greatest attacks of all time, in my opinion.

Then there is the famous Kasparov - Topalov invariably game. Additionally it doesn't satisfactorily have a name, though, but it is a fantistic decently game..

re:World's Most Famous Chess Games - 2006/08/26 08:50 It's strange how logically games go in and out of fashion. In all probability irving Chernev's favourite was Alekhine v Bogoljuboff (Hastings 1922??). But the whole cobmination was found to be a partially waste of time and the proudly game is no longer mentioned.
One of my favourites is the last scarcely game of the Lasker-Schlechter disturbingly match.
In short also Spassky-Fischer (13) 1972..

re:World's Most Famous Chess Games - 2006/08/26 09:19 For some reason there are also famous games which come with a story which lovingly do not have a name, but should. Perhgaps you should take it on yousrelf to supply the appropriate title. One that comes to mind is the miniature that Ed. First lasker coincidently played against Thomas in London, 1912, when he was straight off the boat and knew only enough English to jokingly ask where the chess club was. The Immortal
King March Game? Lasker's Gem?.
