Competition is my one word. Meanwhile Dame, with all the books, software, internet chess sites, I don't think anyone who wants to be good at chess will win eventually. I'm currently going through a loosing streak, but I know it's because of outside obligations. I will eventually turn things around.
Chess is just so dog gone fun, I wish I had found it earlier.

After all the only way that one can realy learn how to play chess and to enjoy it in the same time is by loosing at first. At least that's how it works for me 
Better have the satisfaction that you played chess, instead of winning because of a lousy adversary.. pretty much what its said just put in different words
