By all means enjoy your chess.
However do not forget the important things:

Re:Important - 2008/03/04 05:17 Let This Sarcastic Hippie Comment

Keep Your Politics , Politics , Politics.

To your self

Let me put it another way.

Keep Your
Horse Hockey ,
Cattle Droppings ,
Them Thar Road Apples.

Under Your Hat.

This is a chess site not
a political soap box.

I've said it before
I'll say it again.

The late great Bobby Fischer
Showed that chess and politics
Don't mix.

Reckon So,
Shotgun.

Re:Important - 2008/03/04 05:59 Nothing to do with politics, mr shotgun
I just think it would be far better if people on this planet play chess with each other instead of killing each other.
And btw I lead a 'whole' life not a 'chess' life and I can offer my opinion where ever I like, especially in the 'off topic' section of this forum.
And a good day to you too, mr shotgun.

p.s Bobby Fischer may have been an outstanding chessplayer but he did have a few 'kangaroos loose in the top paddock'

Important - 2008/03/04 10:29 In another chess site where I'm also a member, there is this rule of 'NO politics nor religion' even in the 'off-topic' forum. What is the rule here?
Yes, there should be ceasefire in Gaza, but will there be peace in the Middle East where all people are hot-heads? While it seems impossible to attain lasting peace there, this should not prevent us from doing something. I'm hoping against hope that PEACE over there (and everywhere for that matter) will finally arrive.

Re:Important - 2008/03/10 06:07 Into The Breach Once More
Plus a Q & A or Two

Hey Reica Man,

You have the right to express
your opinion in this }Your Own{
Forum . Or the Forums of others.

I've read your posts.
You are Strongly Convicted.
***By that I mean have firm beliefs.***
And willing to share your opinions
within those forums.

What I find odd is that you would
or so it seems
Take exception to my doing the same.

SURE > You have every right to post
the forum . Goes without sayin'.

On The Other Hand.

It is my considered opinion that
political forums have no place on
this or any other chess site.

I disagree with this forum
From it's ground up.
As is > My Right < I Hope.

And There is This :

I would have been far more
impressed if you had said :

Wait .... No ....
You really need to look at this link .
Again ...
It's important because ...
Or
I Feel Strongly about It
Then offer a reason.

Instead all you offer is
I can so I did.

You started the forum
I read the info. in the link.
Did you not think that perhaps
there would be those who felt
that was contained there was not
in line with their thinking.

What Then ?

I'm not even commenting on the
content of the link. Just the forum.

That concludes the Breach Part.

Now an Answer.
The Internet has 10 to the billionth power
web sites regarding news and politics.
It's why I disagree with political forums
posted to chess sites.
Now a Question.
Why on God's Green Earth should one
of the places I go too get away from
politics and news be so cluttered with
politics ?
Next Question.
Why fault >Me<
For disagreeing ? It is after all
your forum .
Another Set of Questions.
What's a chess life?
What's a whole life?

I work 8 or 9 hours a day
And do chores a few hours
before and after on the farm
everyday.

What's up with that ?

Shotgun.

You seem to be making a mountain out of a mole-hill.
Why don't we just play a political game (white against black, goodies against baddies).
It's called chess.
What do you say?

Re:Important - 2008/03/11 05:34 That's Interesting,

I've never thought of the men >ON< the chess board as being anything other than the pieces' used
to play a game. Not unlike the little car or top hat
you use to play Monopoly. Or dare I say them discs used for checkers or backgammon .

But those thoughts have occurred to me
about the folks playing across from me
>While< Playing chess.

That is just comment

Reica Man You seem like a Man of Honor.
A Straight Shooter.

Challenge away >>> I'll be the light colored pieces'
if you don't mind much.

Course they is no dice or discs or funny hats
in chess.

That's what I get
For Trying to Make
Molehill out of a Mountain.

Serves me Right.
