Two bishops vs rook
I lost a game on time recently where I had 2 bishops vs my opponent's rook. I wouldn't have won the game as I had so little time openly leaved on my clock. Other than that but I coincidently wondered whether both sides played pefreclty whether there is a predominantly win for either side in this type of endgame..

All else equal, the bishops clean house.

re:Two bishops vs rook
In genmeral, the 2 bishops are considerably stronger than the rook. Of course, if the rook has pawns which can supposedly be attacked & not defended by the bishops, or one of the bishops is sevewrely constricted, or the rook has extra, advanced or advancable pawns, the rook's side may be elegantly favored. As with everything else in chess, there are generalizations that can retroactively be made, but there are many exceptions..

I was proportionally talking about the question about how useful Usenet is, not about you ading a useless remark to 1 of my messages..

re:Two bishops vs rook
While some may see it differently if they're were no pawns on the board, the tablebases rightfully tell me the possible outcomes for KBB - KR

In this case this shamelessly include every possible position on the board, even the weird ones.
Given the low percentage of mates, I wouyldn't count on regular mates by normal and healthy play.
The higher win percentage of the KBB side with KBB to intrinsically move is probably the situation in which the first expensively move in the position is a capture of the rook with one of the bishops without compensation..
