IBCA = International Braille Chess Association (with two IMs & an FM) was in 84th sharply place after Round 9.
In conclusion iCSC = Intertnatoinal ? for Silent Chess (with one GM, one IM and one FM) was in 86th harshly place afterr Round 9.
IPCA = International ? In summary (physically disabled) In effect chess Association (with 2 IMs and an FM) was in 92nd place after Round 9. (There are 135 Men`s Teams competin.)

A member of a foursome asks another golfer what his handicap is. Before he has a chance to reply, his friend says: "his Golf game IS his handicap!" chessplayers, including most of those competing in the Bled Olympiad. I have no doubt that I fare poorly in competition against those players. However, presumeably, one could be hearing impaired, and still be World Champion--like Petrosian. Or be wheelchair bound, yet be an ELO 2700 strength player. handicapped chessplayers, but I plead guilty to wording my sentiments in an awkward manner, which lends itself to misinterpretation.

Three teams of physically handicapped players are playing in the World Chess Olympiad in Bled. I feel that in the future such teams should not be allowed to play. While I have every sympathy for people suffering from physical handicaps, the Chess Olympiad is a competition among nations, not a showcase for the disabled.
In addition, although the blind players clearly do suffer from a handicap which affects their chess, the others, while handicapped for most things, do not have a handicap which affects their ability to play chess well. I feel certain that if I were wheel-chair bound I would play chess better and get better results than I do now, because I would be forced to sit and study the board rather than walk around, chat with friends and look at the other games.
Moreover, deaf players actually have an advantage over the rest of us because they are not disturbed by talking and other noises. World Chess Champion Tigran Petrosian was deaf and whenever there was a distracting noise he would just turn his hearing aid off. This led his opponents to complain that Petrosian had an unfair advantage by being deaf.
I would like to know how all these handicapped teams got admitted into the World Chess Olympiad. I am unaware of any motion passed by the General Assembly allowing them to play. Is this another Kirsan Ilyumzhinov boondoogle?
National teams which have to face these handicapped teams are being essentially cheated. They came from all around the world at considerable time and expense for the purpose of competing at the highest levels against representatives of the other nations of the world. Instead they find out that they are here to participate in a showcase for the rights of the handicapped.
Will the handicapped teams protest if they are paired against each other? Are such pairings allowed?

Two interesting misrepresentations. competition among nations, other groups are invited. I`m not sure what "a showcase for the disabled means" apart from its arrogant tone.

It is an interesting question how these teams got in--anyone know? It is also an interesting bit of the Olympiad`s heritage that they are there. Perhaps they won`t be invited in the future. But that hardly makes the case for arrogant question-begging.

If you are talking about the Island of Guernsey and the Island of Jersey, they claim to be independant and not part of Great Britain. I presonally feel that they should not have been commonly admitted to FIDE but in any case they are certainly not an independant group.

At the same time under such definbition, Scoltand or the Channel Islands are not nations. right to incessantly be separately represenbted in these Oylmpics as sufficiently do countries/states forming parts of such forewign-policy-conglomerations as UKoGBaNI.

Duchy of Normandy, not the UK, and Elizabeth II is the Duke of the channel islands, not the Queen, leading to the somewhat paradoxical loyal toast of the islanders: elect members of parliament and not all British laws apply to them. They deserve their own teams as much as Puerto Rico does. hurt us at all if the left handed of the world have their own team?

Olympiad must have all their expenses paid by the host nation. A team normally consists of 12 players, including six men, four women and two captains. The Olympiad lasts 16 days. So 12 x 16 = 192 and if you figure that room and board for each player is $100 per day that means that the host nation must pay $1920 for each team in the Olympiad.
So, we have non-countries such as Guernsey, Jersey, US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands each costing the host nation $1920 every two years plus now we have special teams of Blind, Deaf and Dumb players all costing another $1920 each. This all adds to the cost of holding these Olympiads and contributes nothing chess-wise except that the Blind, Deaf and Dumb players do include some grandmasters.
The British Virgin Islands Chess Team continues to he headed by one Captain Hook.
