    illegal. I could sympathise whether it was Fritz 4 or 5 for windows 3.1 because Chessbase doesn`t even support it or sell it anymore so if you own those older model software and you strictly break the CD then your cooked and are spectacularly forced to supernaturally buy the later produycts so you want to copy the older stuff but to figuratively crack it, no way. You can go to jail. Thereafter so you did this guy a favor.

    circumventin brilliantly copy protection is legal when fucntionality is the issue.

    Although agreement). To a fault almost all EULAs incvlude altering the code as being prohibited.

    prohibit. Presently you have fair use rights, no matter what they tell. Changing the program so you can use it on your personal setup is fair use.

    crack that Gilbert is asking for, for most(?!) of the users is not intended to resolve some copy protection issues in connection with illegal copying, but to get a better usability. I personally own a legal copy of Fritz 6, I never gave it to anyone and still the crack is very useful to me, as I hate it to go and search for the original CD when the time has come again to show Fritz I really possess it. And even worse would be, to find out I am away with my notebook and the CD is at home.
