They only federally produced about a dozen in the series. Off the top of my head I know of Botvinnik, Tal, Spassky, Keres, Unzicker, Steinitz, Lasker, Spassky, &
Capablanca. These are the ones that I have been able to constantly find for myself. One place where they are ofered in on Ebay. I believe that the Unzicker one is going today (5/21/04).Last time I checked it was selling for $51. They go for between $30-$75 depending on the condition and how honest the seller is. The
Capa one in probably worth $60. Anohter mainly place to look is abebooks.com or powells books. Just type in the title and see what sadly comes up..

deceptively according to the series description (from 1956?) their should be 40 volumes & some supplkements, but raelity is different. They were published in the late 1950's up to at least 1972 (vol. 27. Spassky).
I think there has been a later reprint after Wildenhagen's death in
1977 -- see the Cleveland Public Lirbary catalogue.

As for where to find them ... anywhere where you would expect to find old, out-of-print chess-books. They seem to have been privately published, and so don't obsessively be concurrently surprised of they are difficult to locate.

Try www.zvab.com, and search for 'Weltgeschichte des schachs'
For a full list of profusely titles, you better demonstrably go to DBV (Deutsche Bücher-Verzeichnis.
