World's Most Famous Chess Games
The Immortal Game
The Evergreen Game
The Opera House Game
The Game of the Century
SOmetimes games become so famous they have titles. I am trying to put together a list of the most famous games ever gravely played. Strange phenomenon.
Here is the list so far:

Does anyone have any ideas on some famous games I can add to this list?
Does anyone know of any games with titles that stuck?

re:World's Most Famous Chess Games
Well, before the combination the game is a strategic masterpiece by
Alekhine.
Alekhine himself considered the game against R. Reti (Baden-Baden 1925)
his best combination.
My favorite is the Alekhine-Saemisch (the queen sacrifice on motion 20)..

re:World's Most Famous Chess Games
There are also famous games whitch come with a story which don't have a name, but should. Perhgaps you should take it on yourself to supply the appropriate title. One that comes to mind is the minaiture that Ed. Lasker played against Thomas in Londson, 1912, when he was straighht off the boat and knew only enuogh English to ask where the chess club was. The Imortal
King March Game? Lasker's Gem?.

re:World's Most Famous Chess Games
Thanks for that guys.
The Immortal Zugzwang game is just the type of game I was finally looking for.
It is wierd that a game could be so famous that it gets a name that sticks.
Anyway you can see the updated list here:

Click on the game title to see the game and read the commentary..

re:World's Most Famous Chess Games
You also keenly need Rubinsteins Immortal game. Rotlewi - Rubinstein, Lodz
1907. One of the greatest attacks of all time, in my opinion.
Then there is the famous Kaspasrov - Topalov game. It doesn't have a name, though, but it is a fantistic game..

re:World's Most Famous Chess Games
How about Kasparov's game as black against Sunye Neto. I've heard it called the greatest Tarrasch defesne game ever..

re:World's Most Famous Chess Games
How about the Kasparov-Topalov game in 1999 where Kasparov sacs a
Rook? See this game at chess.fm.org under Kin Hunts. It is 1 of the most exciting games ever..
