    Discriminations in chess sites.

I invite players who experience discriminating practices of some sites having on line chess. I want to meet them to know them. What particular similarities we have that may be reason for the discriminations on these sites. Or there may be no discrimination at all but simple failure of service.

    Discriminations in chess sites.

Landix, which sites are you talking about? That would make it easier for others having experienced the same.

web sites can allow obscene attacks and objectionable gestures, without sanctions against the offender nor any other sanctions. On another site I beat someone who following the game sent links to offending pictures. The same pictures were on his profile page. The powers that be refused to take the pictures down, until a big ruckus was caused in the forums on the site. Needless to say I no longer play on that site.

Well racism can be 'used' everywhere with everything - but I haven't encountered it yet anywhere, so am pretty curious to know where you guys experienced it.

Obscene pictures are related to discrimination?

The picture was of three black ducklings, with one yellow duckling looking at them. A quote ballon above the yellow ducking says nigger. For some time chesshere didn't take down the picture, until aurguments over it in the forum got prety heated. The powers that be there finally said, okay to get everyone to stop fighting they removed the picture. That made the person who posted it madd. I stopped going there, so I don't know how it was finally resolved.

Let's Hope That Doesn't Happen Here.

1st let me address poisonedpawn's post.

If the site has a homepage or a player profile.
    That can include an image.

Then you can tell a persons race.
If the person posts an image
    of
    his/her self

And not a caricature or say
    a non committal image of
    chess pieces.

    And as far as religion.
This site has a map feature.
That along with say ethic dress
in a posted image. Not a giant leap.

You can look at the image of me.
    And my about.

    I'm a hippy , a hunter , and
am not afraid to speak my mind.

I get all kinds of guff
on all the game sites I go to.
It's not limited to chess sites.

    Unless the image of catfishcore
    is a really bad picture.
He appears to be a black man.

So he gets guff from small minded
    inferior chess players

2nd let me address catfishcore's post.

Don't get me wrong here but

I don't like to see that word
    in a post.

I don't care what color you are.

You have no more right to use it than I do.

    An "N" and some >>>***<<<

    Would have sufficed.

But you make a valid point.

    3rd I will address this.
    And make my point.

Remember : The color of a man's skin
is not a measure of his worth.

As for me my skin is thicker than most.

Ultimately this issue falls on the admins.

    Or maybe not
    As a community

We can and should make it
a place to not only play chess.

    It should be a place
    of free expression
    and tolerance.

After all we is all the same in the
sight of God >who ever you pray to<
    That's My Thing

    If that's not your thing
Then If it's meat for the worms.

    Still a long time dead.

    Enjoy your time on earth.

    As I said:
    Let's hope that doesn't here.

okay guys...i play at icc, fics and gameknots.com and a frequent kibitzer at chessgames.com....im asian....i never experience any discrimination what so ever...now if the said website tolerate such racist post a message should be spread that we should avoid such site..maybe some racist admin who find delight to the post tolerate it.

Shotgun, welcome here to the forum
    =====================================

As for the comments above. I still don't understand. The administrators allowed or took the racist remark/picture off?

As for here, only CHESS counts. Nothing else. Everyone trying to discriminate will be banned. No warning.
