I don't know what i am, I've played around 60 games won 1. I'm rubbish at openings, my question is:
Do I just solve chess puzzles first because I'm new (I consider myself new because of my record) I read in one thread "don't think defense" which I do

1.Learn all the mate patterns. 2.Learn all the kinds of tactics and how to use them separately and in combination. 3.Learn opening, middlegame,&endgame principals.
Others may offer more assistance. Good luck

I agree with ketchuplover.
Don't start to learn openings, but opening principles.
At the home page of Chess Circle you can find some selected basic principles of the chess opening.
Learning tactics will be even more important.
