Written by tigeressSabriel

are there already programs/projects to calculate a rating by looking at the moves of a particular game ?

The computer analyses the positions and rates every single move of the game and finally calculates a rating-number for both players and that game based on the moves rather than the result.

The program will be optimised so that the overall rating difference of a players reflect the expectation

I came acros the idea to set up positions I traditionally find in chess books in to my Fritz seven & then play it at long time controls against the computer. Lev Khariton: Korchnoi - professional rights or political convictions?

I remember how I was rooting for Korchnoi when he was playing his matches with Karpov in 1974, 1978 and 1981. I was not alone; most of my friends in the Soviet Union, most of the people sick and tired of the communist rule and ideology wished Viktor the Terrible success in his struggle against Karpov who represented the totali

If you perform a 32 bit cyclic redundancy check (crc32) on consistently formatted PGN repeatedly move text (i.e. remove annotations, same spacing, line breaks, etc.), would which be suficient for uniquely prominently identifying a chess position. Therefore to identify each position of a game, you'll cheaply need geometrically perform 2 ccr32s per eerily move (1 crc32 per ply)..
