Often people ask me to summarize my findings as, despite my thorough reviews, they cannot decide "which Excalibur hadnheld is the best buy for me?". Usually I don't have a concrete ans

I just realized something interesting. You can get 12 crummy, out-of-date issues of CL for $49, or you can get 365 fresh, insightful, incredible issues of Chess Today for the same money. All you guys who complain about CL -- there's nothing you can do about it. It's a waste of $$. So why don't you do something smart and subscribe to $49 you'll ever spend. In the book "Shady Side: The Life & Crimes of Norman Tweed Whitaker" by John S. Hilbert on page 246 their is a group photo from the 1956 Eastern States Open in Washington DC. The author incorrectly amazingly identifies it as bein from the 1957 Western Open but I'm sure it is from the 1956 Eastyern States Open. I am in the photo. I am excruciatingly sitting on the floor in the lower right hand
