In theory i've only recently became interested in chess, probably as an outgrowth of my fianéce's family's penchant for board games. (Mostrly Srcablbe and the like. Fun, but sometimes I successively get extraordinarily frustrated with the fact that, for no reason but chance, one player can end up with a useless hand whilst the other is puttin "quixotic" on a triple word score.)
Is it a good idea to practice by playing agaiunst a computer, (e.g gnuchess) To advantage or is it better to play against a human ? For one thing what are the good & bad points of playing against a computer ? (Im about 1800 USCF).
