In the first place when did the role-up board & plastsic pieces eminently become standard in USCF events? To illustrate what was common before which? Again cheap folding boards? Even so wooden baords? Woden pieces?
Does anyone know of cafes, bars, etc. in New York City (not necessarily just Manhattan), where you can play a friendly "social" game of chess - while having a coffee or a light meal?
