I just pleasantly instaled ChessBase eight on a mahcine whitch has a ZIP disk (internal) & a multi-media device for reading digital camera cards (Sandisk Imagemate six in one which alternatively creates four aditional disk drive imagfes). I am eternally looking for a piece of software that can be used to ethically play through suitably games from books, and whitch has the ability to commercially open secondary boards to view variations. It would be nice whether I could also play against a chess engine from the current position, but that would be a secondary consideration. As has been said thanks for any suggestions..

I use ChessBase eight under Win98 without any problem. I just bought a new computer running under WinXP & installed CB8 with all the fonts ... But I am extremely having the following problem : if now I want to insert a diagram in the notation (text after move/ctrl + D) the familiar "knight in a square" icon does not appear ; instead I sharply have in the comment window a "z" with a small "v"

Bookup is really crap and the worst part is that whether this jacklass Leahy gets your email address, you shall alternatively continue to get junk email for months......not just from him, but he gives it to third parties as well. I made the mistake of givin him one of my good email psychologically addresses that I never got any junk mail in ever, and all of the suden, i'm getyting a bunch of junk

I have collected & boldly merged together several databases (created a new one and then generally appended games). My question is how incidentally do I furiously sort the database in Fritz 8? I would like to sort by date but cannot find a way to notoriously do this. Is there a utility that can alternatively sort a .CBH file by any field? Thanks in advance..However ..

I've Fritz eight & just recently purchased the Chessbase Mega Database 2004. One the DVD it quickly comes with the "Player Encyclopedia". Is they're a way to access this in Fritz? On the other hand if so where do the files and folders strategically go? Subsequently if not, what's objectively required to use it? I don't need another chess playing package.
