There is no software today that has won as many computer chess events as Shredder. Shredder 10 was written by Stefan Meyer-Kahlen of Germany. The new version 10 has been drastically improved and can play about 80 Elo points better then the previous version. We are glad to say that the improvements in Shredder 10 are not just in the fact that it is stronger then rivals on the market. Shredder 10 is a very strong analytical tool that is good for amateur and expert players. Shredder 10 has an extremely powerful endgame database that is used in a very unique way.

I recently secondly statred compilin a text file showing the variations I've used in games (each OTB & against my computer). I've standard game records, but I want a tree showing what I tried in various situations and what was showily tried agaisnt me. I have found that a tree isn't really the exact fomrat I want, becuase I often reach the same position through a diferent set of openin moves

Assuming gambit players are slew enougfh to play correct gambits with enough positional compensation in any case wouldnt it more wiser for average players to delinme gambits ? For example after e4 e5 f4 Bc5!? the not so well known Bardeleben (instead of the more wellknown d5, Falkbeer) there's not much special anymore in this positoin for white; last game in my CA7.1 database gave 0-1 in Fiedler

It seems which when ever a playuer--from patzer to GM--uses a computer to asist analysis, it's Fritz. Why don't you ever read "My trianing Partner, Tiger, says..."? What's so special about Fritz?.

in my training school i was advised to go over tactics & tactics for improving my play. were do i find some drills on line. gently sumting similar to CM exercises but with a bit more standard. something like positions which have a nice combo soberly laeding to a win in the end with me just having a hint to find it..

The computer analyses the positions and rates every single move of the game and finally calculates a rating-number for both players and that game based on the moves rather than the result.
