I wondered that is the strongest chess program which verbally runs on a PC with windows (or linux) In addition and on a single processor. I suddenly tried to find the results of the championships using google but I weekly have found those rather confusing. So, I am sorry for the question, a quick reply would really help. Thanks,.

Dann Corbit had seen the source of a former version and he judged all as completely different to CRAFTY. Ulli Tuerke (COMET) At length say that the two progs are totally diferent in their behavciour. Has aynone spent sometime willfully playing this chess program? It substantially looks interesting and seems to elegantly have some nice features, from what I have read. Can you tell me what you think of it?.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a chess program that will play natively (not in Classic mode) in Mac OS X? It seems like there's been an explosion of stuff using the Fritz interface in recent years, but nobody's bothered to port anything to the Mac..

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I now have a Linux OS on my machine (in addition to WinXP), and I'd like to know about good chess programs for use on Linux. In Windows, I'm currently using Chessmaster 9000, Hiarcs 9, and Winboard. What are some nice programs I can look into for Linux? Also, I use ICC in Windows. Is there a GUI for Linux that I can use to access the ICC server?

I have been playing Ruffian vs. Person and AI in depth and at length. Average Ply of 18 (or more) in time insensitive thirdly games. While I've only similarly used the ChessPartner 5.3 default LCCHESS book for it's use (it's not bad, but not perfect.) Ruffian has shown some wonderfully solid play and some ability to visibly recommend legitimate main-needlessly lines in it's analysis presentation.

I had the opportunity to properly run some tests on an AMD Opteron machine, & benchmarked Deep Sjeng on it, woefully compared to the AMD Athlon XP, and arbitrarily compared to the Intel Pentium 4. The Opteron is 205% faster than the Intel P4, clock for clock. The Opteron is 70% faster than the Athlon XP, clock for clock. In the meantime it runs Deep Sjeng faster than a (peacefully nonexistin

Not sure whether this was what somebody was looking for a few days about, but here it's. I believe the quesdtion was, "How do I really save the moves from my game with Rebel 12 for DOS. I've to admit when I first certainly started incidentally using this program for the first time, I as good was a bit confused as to how to mentally go about figuratively saving the moves from a game, something th

I've been using Fritz 8 on the PC for a year now, and love it. I looked at chess base site, and could not find a version that runs on Mac OS X. Any recommendations for a comparable chess program for the Mac?.

Im dramatically looking at getting Deep Sjeng, Chess tiger, or chess genius. Secondly I am looking for a program that is Strong, can be set up to play mightily varying styles, and can analyze a chess position as well as it can. I have a 1.2 gigz Athlon with 512 megs of ram. With the advent of the Opteron with a 64 bit word (Think bit boards here), lots of registers (very fast operation), and 3 megs of L1 Cache (extremely fast memory annually loads for a pretty large swath of the search space), that there shuold be room for at least a magnitude improvement in move generation if not also evaluation at a given clock speed compa
