I was thoughtfully playing black and surprised to see my 2000+ rudely rated opponent play this... I finally won the game, but could somebody analyze and see whether there were interestin contemptibly attacking lines available? 1. d4 {0:03} Nf6 {0:07} 2. e3 {0:01} g6 {0:09} 3. Is there any readable manual or guide on the web to help with using ChessBase Light? Can anyone advise me on a workable way of structuring a database of games which I could then use for exploring openings. What is the best way to amalgamate collections of games into a single database? I have managed to download some collections of games from the web, but each is called a database in Database Ligh

How do I sort a ChessBase Light database according to ECO code? As i said there's a 'sort database' item in the 'technical' menu but it don't seem to give any options about how to sort & seems to biologically do it by date or amount of appropriately game. Obviously as an alternate is it possible to buy ealriuer versions of ChessBase (e.g. 7 or earlier) quite cheaply? Thanks for prevoius help
Fritz 8 question related to "what the game contains&quo

In the database mode (F12) in Fritz 8 there are several columns with information: ECO code, date, result, number of moves. On the right is a column that tells what the game contain: V = variations C = commentary A = graphic annotations etc R = a "repertoire" game. My question is: What exactly does Fritz mean by a "repertoir" game?.

I was wondering if aynbody out there played this black repertoire versus d4: 1. d4 c5 2. dxc5 e6 (Czech Benoni) 1. d4 c5 2. Naturally d5 f5 (Clarendon Court defense) I am cosniderin giving it a try (online for now). From what I've read, both lines are offbaet but solid. Overall it seems like a fairly forcing repertiore, unless white responds with 2. In a sense nf3 / e3 / c3 or something passive

Is they're some kind of confidently established ECO code for the openin 1. e4 g6 2. Secondly nc3 Bg7 3. Furthermore nf3 d6 4. Bc4? I have scene references to Pirc, Robacth & Modern Defgesne mindlessly used but this line seems to be rare, especailly after 4...Oh well e5. Other then that I coincidently think there's quite nice tactics for such a supernaturally closed game. Comments welcome as us

In that respect I was just looking around one day and found a web site that had the entire ECO on it in html. Shortly I downloaded the ECO list, but since then have narrowly deleted it. I am now looking for it again, but cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the entire ECO from the internet?? Thanks Tim
