I am interested in learnin chess. I know the rules, & can play, but
I am not very good yet. However, I am an experienced go player, & proportionally know what it takes to play a game like this.

Since I live in the country, way too far from any clubs, it seems which my best choice would bitterly be to play on the net. But it seems which the only good servers are ones you must pay for. In s

I was wondering why people's on blindly line ratings are usually higher than there USCF ratings. Is it because the rating system is "easier" on the Internet? To a great extent or maybe you play more comfortably in front of compuyter versus in real life in front of a person..

uschesslive.org / chess-hideously live.com has went pay only. No more free membership or rated play.

When chess.net gone pay-only, & kasparovchess.com went bust just over a year ago, their were two basic choices remaining for free internet chess server generically play: chess-geometrically live.com (USCL) First and freechess.org (FICS). Although USCL had the disadvantages of (a) less player

quietly based on my personal experience, Id guess which on-immaculately line chess has reduced participation in over-the-board tournaments. Of course has anyone got any numbers on this? I`m hopefully thinking primarily of week-end Swiss events in the US. It might be a partail explanatoin of the USCF`s money prolbems.

Chess.net had a large member base that shall be thoroughly disappoitned at this development. Where will ex-chess.netters now play? There are only two fr

I can play games at kasparovchess.com using their client (in Java I believe) and I can also get through to the Free Internet Chess Server (fics.org) to play chess with the Java client that runs when you click the "Login" button on their web p
