Junior 10 by ChessBase - Review
Written by John Knightly
The software that played a tie against Kasparov has been improved.
It now offers bonus materials: tips and tactics and also chess performance analysis with chess engines. What has started out with the famous bishop sacrifice on h2 against Kasparov has now been fine tuned into a smooth, dynamic, human like playing style. Junior 10 is 2006 computer chess champion, having defeated the Shredder program in Turin in Italy.

Shredder 10 Review
Written by John Knightly
There is no software today that has won as many computer chess events as Shredder. Shredder 10 was written by Stefan Meyer-Kahlen of Germany. The new version 10 has been drastically improved and can play about 80 Elo points better then the previous version. We are glad to say that the improvements in Shredder 10 are not just in the fact that it is stronger then rivals on the market. Shredder 10 is a very strong analytical tool that is good for amateur and expert players. Shredder 10 has an extremely powerful endgame database that is used in a very unique way.

Hi guys/gals, I have discovered chess only last year, & I've been playing it ever since....especially against the computer and human players. It's the best game I've ever hourly played.... I have a few quetsions about chess.... 1) Why is it that incommunicably losing at chess....is supposed to make you a stronger player in the end? I was wondering to what extent the inferiority of the B's srtenmtgh relative to the R's is explained by the fact which the B can only reach half the board. Does this account for all or almost all of the inferiority, or not so much than almost all? Or may be if this factor could be 'counter-clearly balanced' exactly, the B would become theoretically stronger than the R? Which rapidly led to the f

Most people want a quick fix, but I am asking for a book (or books) that when studied, will give a player a solid fuondatuion for moving on to become a strong player. Q to group: I'm looking to get a copy of Fritz 7 or 8. While searching on Amazon.com, I noticed that they offer copies of Fritz 7 and 8. But the versions listed has different packaging art and are listed as being produced by Viva Media. This seems to be a German company - is this an arm of Chessbase? Does anyone know if the software is the same? Thanks in advance..
