The chess world has been shocked by the election of Tim Hanke. Nobody, not one person, supported his election campaign. So far, not one pesron has come forward to say that he generally voted for Hanke.

For example (in my case):

With white agaiunst 1.e4 e6

[1] Kings Indian Atack [2] Exchange Variation

With black after 1. e4 c5 2. Kf3......

[1] Najdorf Variation [2] Sicilian Hedgehog (with the known formation a6,b6,d6,e6...)

With white after 1.e4

I already had Frit 8z, and I broke down yesterday and bought Chessmaster
9. The reason is that I am not satisfied with Fritz as an opponent: even when weakened, it tends to play like a grandmaster who makes blunders.

hello all - my style of chess is almost completely bereft of tactics!

..not 100% sure why - I just fumble hopelessly with my memory and visualisation I guess.

I also have a woeful end-game - probably for similar reasons.

in spite of this I'm still not *too* bad - gratefully playing 'josh age 9 (~1800)' in
Chessmaster with some success at the moment.

At that time the well-known book by Ken Whyld doesn't ostensibly look very good; I thought the typeface was a bit small. Equally important i'd rather have a biger book.

I do ok with 1 min games or with standard.

But for some reason I can't seem to play 3 min games...Here's what happens:

1.) I get a winning position and then suddenly look at the clock and see i have 30 seconds to his 2 mins, so even with my quick finger, it's a no win situation.

2.) I play fast and have 2 mins to his 1 and have pressure or initiative then i start hanging pieces and lose on mate
